Popovich Wants To Adopt Fantasy Rules?

Many in the NBA have expressed opinion on the recent Lakers/Grizzlies trade where Pau Gasol went to the Lakers.

San Antonio Spurs Head Coach Greg Popovich stated:

“What they did in Memphis is beyond comprehension,” Popovich told SI.com. “There should be a trade committee that can scratch all trades that make no sense. I just wish I had been on a trade committee that oversees NBA trades. I would have voted no to the LA trade.”

Now I wouldn’t know about this first hand, but isn’t Pop asking to institute Fantasy Sports rules? Don’t they have veto rules and commissioner overrides in fantasy sports? I know Pop, why don’t you throw everyone back into the pool and redraft every year too?

I hear fantasy geeks everywhere rejoicing that finally it looks like they are being taken seriously which only makes the matter worse. Now every geek with a fresh team name like “Anaheim Old Skoolers” will believe his inner discussion that always ends with “you totally could run a big league franchise” to be legitimized.

Someone tell Pop that you can’t fight the Jerry Dust. If you don’t know what that means, you haven’t been keeping up with your Sports Frappe. That’s just a shame.
